Just 3 days ago our Christian friends commemorate Good Friday, the day Jesus Christ, God of Christian died in sacrifice to save all lives and today they are celebrating The Passover, the day that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead.
After all time, celebrating these days has become some routine. Some are buying eggs and decorate it, some come to the church to have the holy communion and the truth is after a long time celebrating these days, we Christian somehow forget the message behind it, we are just well.. having fun on the holiday season 🙂 (that includes me).
But now i realize that there are some message behind the Passover day. Either you are a Christian or not, i hope this writing can give you something 🙂
FULFILLMENT
“He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him: lo, I have told you.” (Matthew 28 : 6-7)
For us Christian, this scripture is well known. As the bible verse said, that God has first told all of His disciples that He will rise on the third day. His risen, which is The Passover is the proof of His words. It’s the Fulfillment of His promise.
Passover isn’t just the day that He’s risen from the dead, but also the proof that He will always fulfill what He has promised. So, Christian people should believe that every promises that God has said will be fulfilled. It could be a short time or even years, it could be a simple promise or even the impossible ones, but as He has fulfilled the most impossible thing which is He is risen from the dead, then there’s nothing to doubt Him. And that is what we called Faith.
HOPE
“And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. And they clothed Him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about His head, and began to salute Him, Hail, King of the Jews! And they smote Him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon Him, and bowing their knees worshiped Him. And when they had mocked Him, they took off the purple from Him, and put His own clothes on Him, and let Him out to crucify Him.” (Mark 15 : 16-20)
“And they bring Him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The Place of a Skull. And they gave Him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but He received it not. And when they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. And it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.” (Mark 15 : 22-25)
The scripture of Jesus crucified is probably the most famous among other scriptures. We can say that it’s the main point of all, it even brought up to movie. Everyone knows that probably there are no greater pain than what Jesus has been through.
His suffer and His pain to saves all lives are nothing to be compared to, yet there is one Hope as He promised that He will rise again on the third day.
Our burden, our problems and our pressure might be so hard to handle right now, but as you remember that His suffer was much greater than yours and He is risen, it’s your hope. His risen is our hope to everything we’re facing.
He has done the most impossible thing ever, He has injured so bad yet He has beaten the death and lives again. This kind of power that should keep us in faith to any burden.
JOY
Remember when the Manchester United lost their “all of these time” coach for the first time? you could see a clear changes happened to them. They looked like they lost their power, their spirit and their skill. In the sudden they were just about losing. When you are in a team, you will know the impact of losing your coach, your leader.
“A leader is someone who set direction and help themselves and others to do the right thing to move forward. To do this they create an inspiring vision, and then motivate and inspire others to reach that vision.”
Losing a leader means losing a way, a direction and an inspiration. What the team become depends on the leader’s vision and losing a leader brings confusion, sadness, and lost. This happens on losing a good leader.
Jesus Christ is a leader of all of His disciples. When Jesus died, they were confuse, sad and just losing their way. Some back to their old life, some just hang there and think about next.
The risen of Jesus Christ brings the ultimate Joy for them, they who are lost now have found their way back, they who are sad now have found the joy. Passover should bring Joy to any Christian’s heart, because our God has risen from the dead and comes to lead us and will never leave again.
“And when He had thus spoken, He shewed them His hands and His feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said unto them, Have ye here any meat?” (Luke 24 :40-41)
THE WAY
The Passover and The Ascension of Jesus Christ leaves a message to all Christian :
“And He said unto them,
Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believe and is baptized shall be saved; but He that believe not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16 :15-18)
