The standard you’ve set will determine how much love you’ll get. That is why there are some people who feels loved by someone who’s treating her the opposite of love and there are some people who feels lack of love by someone who we can say is such a romantic and lovable person. It’s all about the standard you’ve set. Set higher and you’ll demand higher, set lower and you’ll be easier satisfied. It’s not a matter of right and wrong, but it is to set the right standard and meet the right one.

Some people say, February is the month of love. Well, i prefer that everyday is a day of love 🙂 but talking about Love. What is love to you? At what moment you could feel that you are loved the most?

Let see what is love according to the word of God?

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ^8a Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13 : 4-8a)

When something happens between the family, does anger still dominate you? if it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love is patient and kind. When you see someone has more than you in anything, are you irritated? If it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love does not envy. Do you always want your sacrifice in the name of love to be always made clear? If it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love does not boast. Are you still remember even 1 mistake your brother have made? If it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love keeps no record of wrongs. Are you delight in everything’s evil and hate to tell the truth? If it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love does not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth. Do you ignore your brothers who’s in need? Are you an over-protective person and ask a tons of questions out of suspicious? If it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love always protects and trusts. Are you leaving the person who’s seems to always failed to fill your demands? If it’s a yes, It’s not love for Love always hopes and perseveres. Have you ever stopped loving someone? Does your love stop because of his/her doings? If it’s a yes, it’s not love for Love never fails.

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:8)

Now, the Love talk is getting real. Allow me to show you the real love that we never deserve to even ask for but is given for free. It is said that God is love. He doesn’t just love us, He is the Love itself. How can he then hate? What a good news for you who maybe feel abandoned. There will be always 1 person who loves you, and His name is Jesus. Okay, let’s read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a once more time and get deeper.

God is patient, God is kind — how long have we been a disappointment to Him? How many times we’ve been talking bad about others husband / wife / family but yet God still gives us a family to love and loved. How many times we’ve been planning bad deeds to our brothers, say bad words out of our mouth that deserves to be slapped actualy – but yet He still gives us a life, a laugh, a smile and a reason to live?

God does not envy — How many times when we’re in struggle, our thought goes to “How come God is real! the fact is that my problem has just gone and here comes the new – are you for real God? Can’t you just be happy to see me okay?” – we often think evil by assuming that God is envy with all of our achievements, and when somethings comes up, we blame Him while it is not Him at all, He is the owner of everything we have, He is a God bless! He does not envy, He has given all He has!

God does not boast — is there a king who does not boast about the authority he has to someone who doesn’t follow his rules? How many times we do all the opposite of His will? How many times we blame the King of all Kings? How many times we act with no manner in His presence? But aren’t we still alive today? He whose by His breath could put us in the darkness stop Him self from doing it in the name of His love to make us could live today.

God is not proud — be thankful for our God is not like the arrogant boss we have in the world! He could do anything with our life but for He is not proud, He gives mercy. There is truly none like Him! But for that reason we should be more fear of God. For His love is too great He will do just anthying to bring us back to His way even though when it means to take everything we have today so we could have everything else later.

God does not dishonor others — It is true that He has our life in His hands. But wohoo He is an amazing God, doesn’t He always give us a free will? For we are His sons and not robots. He gives us free will in loving Him, in choosing our options in life, choosing our spouse. God is no respect out of man, for He is God! But He gives his heart to be “controlled” by His sons just like a father let himself to be invited to his little daughter’s tea party and let himself be fooled by all the drama. He is not fool, it’s His love for us.

God is not self seeking — everything He does for us are for our sake only. What do you think He get in return by helping us with His grace? Our praise? How many times we’ve been helped but then we forget Him? Our songs? Even the angels’s voices are much better than us! Our life? Have we truly given our dreams, hopes and desires for Him to control? So what is the benefit for Him in helping us? Nothing. God does everything by His love.

God is not easily angered — how many times we curse God or our brothers? How many times we miss to give thanks for everything we have? But see how God still bless us when we shout for help. Imagine what will happen to you when you curse a president of your state, shouldn’t we get a lot more worse when the bad words slip out of our mouth to the King of all Kings?

God keeps no record of wrongs — just what Jesus has said, that He has come to save the sinners. Don’t ever feel bad enough to come to His feet, for He is your God who takes care of you. Where else can you go?

God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth — He does not think and do evil things to us, be grateful for His holiness! For He is the Truth, and His plans are not an evil plan but a peaceful plans that are full of hope.

God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres — He is the Father who never loses hope and faith to all His sons! When you could get home safely, know that it’s His protection that keeps you safe – when you could be healed from your sickness with a simple meds, know that it’s His hands guarding you from harm. For we deserve to die, but if we are still breathing today, it’s Him never losing hopes that we could one day back to His ways! He always put His trust on us, always trusts that we will win in every situation, that we will come to Him tonight, eventhough we often disappointed Him but still He chooses to let himself hoping! For His love always perseveres and never change no matter what we’ve done.

And last but not least, God never fails!  For His plans or promises will never fails eventhough we’re not giving our best response He needs, God never fails in fulfilling His promises in our life! Be grateful for His love!

¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is Love. (1 Corinthians 13 : 13)
